Explicit Faith  will be performing an acoustic set at Garretts Chapel in Mathias, WV. Come out and fellowship with the “softer” side of Explicit Faith !

The Explicit Faith  song “I Believe” has been chosen to be part of the “United by Grace” compilation CD produced by Quickstar Productions. From their website:

Unified By Grace is a compilation CD and marketing project brought to you by Quickstar Productions. It is designed to bring together some of America’s best Christian musicians for a common cause, fighting malaria in Uganda, Africa and most importantly spreading the message of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We hope you enjoy this project as much as we have enjoyed bringing it to you.

“I will give praise to you with instruments of music, O my God, for you are true; I will make songs to you with music, O holy one of Israel.” Psalm 71:22 (BBE)

The guys at Explicit Faith  are thankful for this blessing and opportunity to help do God’s work and to help the world community. Praise His name from whom all blessings flow!

The guys at Explicit Faith  want to wish each one of you a safe, prosperous, and happy new year! We will take a moment to reflect on 2008.

A new years eve мебелиconcert in Petersburg, WV was our first event for the year.  A church sponsored event, local teenagers were provided with games, food, and music in a safe protected environment in which to celebrate the occasion. A lit cross was lowered from the ceiling at midnight!

As we celebrated our first birthday in February as a band, the guys were involved with writing and rehearsing new original material to add to the set list. They were also involved in a planning meeting for the Mountainman rally which was scheduled for August. This 2nd annual event helps to raise money for Eagle Mountain Ranch. The Eagle Mountain Ranch is a Christian based retreat for special needs children and their families!

March saw the guys busy planning a concert for the 1st annual Daniel Landacre Memorial Ride in Mathias, WV. This event was sponsored by the Baker and Mathias Fire and Rescue squads. This month also included prayers answered for our lead singer, Derek. Derek hurt his voice at the new years eve concert and battled for recovery while many fans prayed for him. We continue to give thanks to the Lord for His healing mercy and blessings!

In April, we continued to plan for the busy summer concert schedule. Work also continued on increasing our exposure on the internet. Several web pages were created on various secular and Christian social networking sites to give additional access to our fans and to make new friendships. We were also blessed with an opportunity to perform for the first time in Winchester, VA at the Impact 540 event. This event was co-sponsored by several churches and included music by the Union Ave. Band, guest speaker Randy Hogue, and various games and other activities.

May brought us together with our friends from Remembrance in a concert at East Hardy Early Middle School in Baker, WV. Some of the new music we had been working on was introduced at this show. We were blessed when Remembrance joined us on stage to help sing “I Believe”! Proceeds from the refreshments of this concert were presented to a local woman and close friend to help cover costs in her continued battle with cancer. This month also had Explicit Faith  listed as the featured band on the Christian social site, Faithitup. This site has now combined with another site to form Christian.com.

In June, the guys performed at the Daniel Landacre Memorial Ride. Keyboardist Dusty Landacre and his family suffered a tragic loss when his father was called home to be with the Lord following a serious auto accident. This was a rough time for the Landacre family.  The Baker and Mathias Fire and Rescue squad provided tremendous support in a show of true community spirit and Christian love to Dusty and his family. To show their gratitude, Dusty and his family organized this event featuring a motorcycle and antique car show, poker rally, awesome food, and live music! Proceeds from the event went to the Fire and Rescue squad. Our brothers in Christ, the Damascus Road Riders, a local chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Association, were a blessing to us in their contributions and support. The month ended with an interview for the online WV magazine, Graffiti, which provided additional exposure for our ministry.

July saw Explicit Faith  performing at the annual Mathias Carnival. Among games, rides, and food, we shared an incredible night of music with local friends and family. The band played for approximately 3 hours and the crowd just kept growing and growing! What a blessing!

August began with the Mountainman rally in Circleville, WV. Motorcycles from around the region traveled to this beautiful and scenic part of West Virginia to show their support for Eagle Mountain Ranch and its founding member, Mountainman Mike Lamborne. We were blessed at this performance in sharing the stage with Spiritwind, a praise and worship band that came all the way from Florida! Next on the performance schedule was Wardensville, WV. Sponsored by a local church, the guys performed for the community on a blissful summer evening, singing praises to the Lord!

September brought the band back to Virginia to perform in Timberville. Several area churches came together to sponsor this event when they learned that the band was raising money to produce their material on CD.

October found the guys busy rehearsing material in preparation to return to Cabin Studios to record with legendary performer/songwriter Les Thompson. Les was one of the founding members of the “Nitty Gritty Dirt Band”. He provides valuable expertise in the recording process. He is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about the recording and music industry and his stories are ALWAYS entertaining!

November, and the band was back in the studio. It was a bit more crowded this time around, as new member guitarist; Rodney Llewellyn joined us while we recorded. Rodney brings experience and can play both lead and rhythm adding to our sound. He is also a lot of fun to have around!

We concluded the years performance schedule with a return event in December to Wardensville, WV. This concert was the first to include Rodney on stage with the rest of the band. New songs were added to the set list and many new faces appeared in the crowd!

Explicit Faith was certainly blessed in 2008 as we continued to spread the loving gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through good music with a positive message! We give thanks to our Heavenly Father for these blessings and we also give thanks for you, our fans for standing with us and showing your love and support!

Exciting things are already happening this year, 2009, which is only a few hours old. Several concerts are in the planning stages as well as additional song material. There is even a rumor that you may see an Explicit Faith bus on the roads soon! We look forward in anticipation to walk upon this path in which the Lord leads us, knowing that He is our manager and is in complete control and that He blesses abundantly! We look forward to seeing each of you on this path this new year. What does God have in store for you? Do you have Explicit Faith?
