The Bass ManJustin “Hi, my name is Justin Hedrick and I am the bass player for  Explicit Faith . I was born in Elkins, WV and lived in Red Creek, WV until I was 5 years old. My father then became a pastor and we moved to Mathias, WV.

My parents bought me a small guitar when I was about 8 years old. My father taught me to play over the next few years. At age 12, I got a full size acoustic guitar and began going out with him to play bluegrass with a band called the Trout Pond Pickers.

When I was 15, I received an electric bass for Christmas. Again, my father taught me to play. He has a natural God given gift of music and it was passed on to me. We both cannot read music, so we play by ear. My family played and sang a lot of music at my dad’s churches. I met Dusty and Scott through my father and we played together a few times at praise and worship services.

In 2007, Dusty called and said he was trying to get a Christian rock band together. I knew this would be a good opportunity to use my gift of music for God. We met the first time at Dusty’s where I met Derek. We listened to some material and got to know each other better. Our group Explicit Faith  was born.”

Now FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
